Christians Encounter Christ (CEC) is a Spirit-filled Catholic retreat movement serving Northeast Nebraska. Through a powerful weekend experience and an ongoing faith community, men and women are invited to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and discover how to live their faith more fully in everyday life.

What is Christians Encounter Christ?
CEC is a Catholic movement within the Archdiocese of Omaha that helps ordinary people experience the extraordinary love of God.
During a three-day weekend, participants step away from the busyness of life to reflect, pray, share faith, and encounter Christ in a deeper and more personal way. Through witness talks, small group discussions, prayer, worship, fellowship, and the sacraments, participants discover how God’s grace is already at work in their lives and how He is calling them to grow closer to Him.
Our Mission
Rural CEC is a conversion engine so laity will witness to the world in which we live, by strengthened spirituality, lived and shared in everyday environments.
We believe that faith is not meant to remain inside church walls. Christ calls each of us to bring His love into our homes, workplaces, parishes, schools, and communities. Through ongoing spiritual growth and Christian fellowship, CEC equips ordinary Catholics to become joyful witnesses to the Gospel in their everyday lives.

The Weekend Is Only the Beginning
One of the unique aspects of CEC is the community that continues long after the weekend concludes.
Participants are invited to remain connected through prayer, friendship, small groups, leadership opportunities, and local CEC gatherings throughout the year. Many describe CEC as a “family within a family”—a place where faith is encouraged, friendships flourish, and lives continue to be transformed.

Who should attend a CEC Weekend?
- Adults (24+) seeking to grow in their faith and spiritual journey
- Men and women attend separate weekends
- Married couples are encouraged to attend within the same season or within one year of one another with the man attending first
- 65 or older can attend regardless if spouse will attend
- Individuals open to continued spiritual growth beyond the weekend
How do I register and how much does it cost?
A CEC Weekend costs $160 per person and includes overnight lodging, meals throughout the weekend, and all materials.*
To attend a CEC Weekend, you must be sponsored by someone who has previously attended a Christians Encounter Christ weekend. Your sponsor will help answer questions, walk with you through the registration process, and submit your registration.

What is the weekend schedule?
Friday Evening
- Arrival and check-in 6–7 PM
- Introductions with the CEC Team and fellow participants
- Light refreshments served
- Faith-filled meditations, witness talks, and table discussions
Saturday & Sunday
- Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided each day
- Witness talks, activities, and table discussions
- Opportunities for prayer, reflection, and fellowship
- Catholic Mass and closing on Sunday evening
